Feed the Inner Child

Remember when we were children and had opportunities to simply explore?
To play in the dirt… pick up bugs… tell stories, play games. 
To just BE!
We were encouraged to enjoy the make believe.

We recreated our own “discovered lands” in open areas before everything was so developed. 
Stayed outside until the street lights came on, and then some.
But then, with each passing day, we learned how to trade in the freedoms of youth for the
responsibilities of adulthood.

Some folks got less creative, some weren’t as inquisitive, some just “gave up.”
The inner child is an aspect of our whole selves that will always need to be addressed.

Feed your inner child.

These thoughts came to me as I spent time in my neighborhood park. I thought that … one day, we’re just not little kids anymore. As children, yes we still consumed and wanted to play with toys, but we found so much joy in being the CREATOR. Of course, we can’t stay children forever, but we can develop a relationship with the child in us that never truly died.

Our inner child wants to be seen. It wants to laugh, to feel light, to have fun and be silly. Honor that.
