We have welcomed the season of life. The winter solstice brought us back the light, and now the spring equinox ushers in the dawning of new life. Astrologically, this season is welcomed by Aries—the baby of the zodiac.
Aries, the hunter and the first sign of the zodiac wheel, is also a fire sign ready to take the lead. Embodying the masculine energy of activation and doing, it arrives prepared to initiate and move things forward. It feels fitting that after leaving the dreamy state of Pisces—the final sign of the zodiac, where we hold the lessons of every sign before it—we are now guided by the force of Mars, ready to bulldoze through whatever uncertainty may have lingered in Neptune’s boundless waters.
As we step into this new astrological year, it’s time to begin tending to the soil so we can prepare for the real work with the ground come April and May, when Taurus season arrives.
Here are a few ways to embody Aries and spring energy:
- Embody the spirit of initiation by planting seedlings and beginning the germination process
- Clean your home and donate or release things that are taking up space
- Try on clothes from last year to see if they still fit or reflect your current style
- Take more walks and enjoy the increasing sunshine
- Look back at old journal entries or projects. How have things in your life changed? Are there hobbies you’d like to pick back up? Is there anything you should bring back to life?
And lastly, if you work a corporate job—be kind to yourself. For some reason, Q1 seemed especially intense for many people I know. Maybe it’s the uncertainty of the market or the rapid advancements in AI and what that means for businesses. Whatever the reason, a lot of us have been grinding. I’m reminding myself to stay in touch with my own needs and to find ways to pour back into myself.
